  • 3 air-injected swim jets on 3 pumps

Air is mixed into the stream: it feels strong on your palm but gives you less water to pull against. The swim pumps run only the current.

  • Dual temperature: a swim side and a hot tub side

Swim cool and soak hot, each side held at its own temperature. It's more equipment to own, and the hot side takes length from the lane.

Keeping it warm
No measured figure for the 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus. A typical swim spa costs about $57 a month to keep warm.

No California listing we could match

California files dual-temperature swim spas as combination spas, and those listings describe only the hot tub side, so there's no standby figure for the swim side.

The manual doesn't say which pack each circuit feeds. The product page lists only one '220 v / 60 a' supply, so give the electrician the manual.

Ten things that decide whether a swim spa works for you and lasts, answered for Dynasty Spas’s swim spas. Tap any for the detail.

Swim currentTwo or three air-adjustable 'River Jets', each on its own pump, except on the 13'…Partly

Dynasty's operation schematics put each river jet on the 13' Pro, Pro Plus, 16', 17' and 19' on its own pump, with the seats on a separate one, and give every river-jet zone an air control. Dynasty publishes no current width, flow, top speed or step count, and never calls the current airless. The 13' Party's two jets run off the pump that also feeds seat jets, and Dynasty publishes no current figures for it, so treat it as a play current rather than a lap current.

Applies to: All six current Aquex models: 13' Aquex Party, 13' Aquex Pro, 13' Aquex Pro Plus, 16' Aquex Trainer, 17' Aquex Pro, 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus.

Room to swimDynasty Spas doesn't publish this. Ask the dealerNot published

Dynasty gives only outside cabinet sizes, 160 inches long on the 13-footers up to 224 on the 19-foot dual-zone, and cabinet heights of 51 to 60 inches. It publishes no open swim length, lane width or water depth. Seats and steps take part of every lane and the 19-footer's hot tub takes more, so lie out in a display with your arms overhead.

Applies to: All six current Aquex models: 13' Aquex Party, 13' Aquex Pro, 13' Aquex Pro Plus, 16' Aquex Trainer, 17' Aquex Pro, 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus.

Frame and shellA pressure-treated wood frame bonded to a fiberglass-backed Lucite shell, sitting…Partly

Dynasty says pressure-treated wood forms every spa's structure and is bonded to the shell, and that its shells carry a double layer of fiberglass with vinyl ester resin. Its Aquex brochure pages list a 'Treated Plywood Bottom', while brand-wide pages describe an ABS or 'Dynacrete' base, so ask which your swim spa has. Wood is strong when dry but can rot if a leak goes unnoticed, and Dynasty publishes no lumber sizes or laminate thickness.

Applies to: All six current Aquex models: 13' Aquex Party, 13' Aquex Pro, 13' Aquex Pro Plus, 16' Aquex Trainer, 17' Aquex Pro, 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus. Frame and shell statements are brand-wide; the plywood bottom is listed for each Aquex model.

Site prepA 5-inch rebar-reinforced pad and a dedicated 240 V 60 A GFCI circuit; the…Partly

The 2026 manual asks for full support under the whole base, such as 5 inches of concrete with #4 rebar on 18-inch centers, never a deck or balcony, and a delivery path the buyer clears. Filled weights run from 14,200 to 20,300 pounds. Every model needs a dedicated 60 A GFCI circuit and the 19-foot dual-zone needs two, but its product page just says '220 v / 60 a', so give your electrician the manual.

Applies to: All six current Aquex models: 13' Aquex Party, 13' Aquex Pro, 13' Aquex Pro Plus, 16' Aquex Trainer, 17' Aquex Pro, 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus.

Running costPerimeter insulation (RMAX foil panels around a heated air space), with no…Partly

Dynasty lines the cabinet walls and floor with RMAX rigid foil panels and reflective wrap and keeps pump heat in the enclosed air space instead of filling the cabinet with foam. It claims 'up to 7 times the R-value' of competitors without saying what it measured, and publishes no standby watts. We haven't checked Dynasty's California energy listings. In 2018 Dynasty settled with California for $15,000 over spas sold there in 2015-16 without the required energy testing and certification.

Applies to: All six current Aquex models: 13' Aquex Party, 13' Aquex Pro, 13' Aquex Pro Plus, 16' Aquex Trainer, 17' Aquex Pro, 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus.

Dual zoneOnly the 19-footer has a separate hot tub, with its own heater, topside and pack…Yes

The 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus splits into a swim side and a spa, with two heaters, two K.1000 topsides, two ozonators, separate equipment packs and two 60 A circuits. That's the full dual-temperature approach, and it means more equipment to own. Dynasty doesn't publish either side's temperature range or how much heat crosses the divider, and its gallons disagree: 1,500 plus 330 on the product page, 2,100 combined in the brochure.

Applies to: 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus; the other five models are single-zone.

Service accessRemovable panels on all four sides, published service clearances, and panel…Yes

The equipment sits behind the side panel under the topside, and Dynasty says every cabinet panel is removable. The 2026 manual asks for 38 inches of clearance at the equipment side and 24 inches around the rest, and Dynasty's insulation drawing (a generic spa, not a swim spa) shows panels around an open, heated air space rather than foam fill, which should leave the plumbing reachable. An independent parts store sells Dynasty pumps, topsides and jets, but the warranty makes full access your job and leaves any surrounding structure to you.

Applies to: All six current Aquex models: 13' Aquex Party, 13' Aquex Pro, 13' Aquex Pro Plus, 16' Aquex Trainer, 17' Aquex Pro, 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus.

Warranty terms20 years on the structure against leaks, but 3 on the surface and 3 full years on…Partly

Dynasty covers the shell against water loss for 20 years and the acrylic surface for 3. Equipment and plumbing are advertised as 5 years but are covered in full for 3, then at 50% of parts and labor in years 4 and 5; skirting and other parts get 1 year. It ends if the spa changes hands, a trip charge applies after delivery, factory repairs put removal and reinstallation on you, and repairs by anyone other than Dynasty or its agent void it.

Applies to: All six current Aquex models: 13' Aquex Party, 13' Aquex Pro, 13' Aquex Pro Plus, 16' Aquex Trainer, 17' Aquex Pro, 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus. The same card covers Dynasty's hot tub collections (not Hideaway).

Cover and lifterA foam cover comes standard (two single-fold lids on the 13-foot Pro models)…Partly

Dynasty makes its own covers: foam cores in sealed poly bags, insulated heat bags at the fold, double-sewn grips and four child-resistant locks. The 13-foot Pro and Pro Plus ship with two single-fold covers; the others just list 'insulated covers'. The manual says to ask the dealer about a lifter. Cover thickness and taper aren't on the current US pages, and the cover gets one year of warranty at most.

Applies to: All six current Aquex models: 13' Aquex Party, 13' Aquex Pro, 13' Aquex Pro Plus, 16' Aquex Trainer, 17' Aquex Pro, 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus.

Service and originMade in the USA by an Athens, Tennessee company owned by Quebec's Trévi since 2021…Partly

Dynasty says it builds its spas and swim spas in the U.S. and names its Athens, Tennessee address as the manufacturer; it has been part of the Trévi group since 2021. Warranty service runs through the selling dealer or an authorized repair facility, with a trip charge, and the dealer locator is a contact form, so there's no public list of dealers or technicians. Dynasty doesn't say who serves you if your dealer closes; an owner in a 2015 forum thread reported poor factory support after their dealer shut.

Applies to: All six current Aquex models: 13' Aquex Party, 13' Aquex Pro, 13' Aquex Pro Plus, 16' Aquex Trainer, 17' Aquex Pro, 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus.

What they sayDynasty sells its spas and swim spas as made in the U.S. by a company based in Athens, Tennessee since 1995, and argues that buying American protects jobs, cuts shipping emissions and lead times, and gets you factory service.

What the documents showDynasty's brochure describes a drilling robot added to its production in the past year, and trade press describes investment in its factory; Dynasty's pages give a U.S. origin and an Athens company address but don't name the plant's location. The claim is also unqualified: Dynasty doesn't say which components are imported, and since 2021 the company has belonged to Trévi, a Quebec pool and spa group, as Dynasty's own About page acknowledges.

Who else does itMost big US swim spa brands build at home: Master Spas in Fort Wayne, Indiana, PDC in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and Endless Pools in Aston, Pennsylvania.

What they sayThe Pro Plus, 16', 17' and 19' come with Swim Coach on the K.1000 touchscreen: preset Lap, Transition, Cardio and Power drills, custom sessions with set intensities and durations, and pumps switched in sync to vary the current.

What the documents showIt genuinely automates interval workouts. But it can only switch the river-jet pumps between their speeds, and Dynasty publishes no flow or speed range, so its intensity steps can't be compared with other brands' settings.

Who else does itDynasty's own page presents it as a feature of the in.k1000+ keypad that 'can transform any swim spa', so it comes with the control system rather than from Dynasty's engineering.

Applies to: 13' Aquex Pro Plus, 16' Aquex Trainer, 17' Aquex Pro, 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus

What they sayDynasty sells big pumps, 'the largest pumps in the industry', with 56-frame motors and Viton seals, and on five of its six swim spas each river jet has its own pump, separate from the seats; the three-jet models list three 5.0 bhp pumps and one or two 7.0 bhp pumps.

What the documents showThe maker's own schematics confirm one pump per river jet, so the current doesn't compete with the seats. 'Largest in the industry' has no supporting figure, and ratings are brake horsepower only.

Who else does itDedicated swim pumps are standard on serious jet swim spas: Hydropool runs its V-Twin current from two 5 hp swim pumps plus a buoyancy pump, and PDC's Summit uses three dedicated 6 hp pumps.

Applies to: 13' Aquex Pro, 13' Aquex Pro Plus, 16' Aquex Trainer, 17' Aquex Pro, 19' Aquex Dual Pro Plus (the 13' Party's jets share a pump with its seats)

CommonRMAX Heatshield insulationDynasty lines the cabinet walls and floor with RMAX rigid foam panels and reflective foil and keeps pump heat in the enclosed air…No standby figure, and a California penalty

What they sayDynasty lines the cabinet walls and floor with RMAX rigid foam panels and reflective foil and keeps pump heat in the enclosed air space, claiming up to seven times competitors' R-value and energy testing in its own lab to California's standard.

What the documents showThe 'seven times the R-value' comparison has no stated basis, and Dynasty publishes no standby watts, the one figure that lets you compare running costs.

Who else does itLining the cabinet and trapping pump heat is the perimeter method several makers use; full foam and foam-plus-blanket hybrids like Hydropool's are the main alternatives.

The catch

No standby figure, and a California penalty. Dynasty publishes no standby-power figure for any swim spa. In 2018 Dynasty settled with the California Energy Commission for $15,000 over eight spas sold in the state in 2015-16 that hadn't been tested and certified, and agreed to certify each model before selling there again.

CommonPressure-treated wood structureDynasty builds every spa on a pressure-treated wood structure it says will last at least half a century, bonded to a shell…Plywood underneath on the swim spas

What they sayDynasty builds every spa on a pressure-treated wood structure it says will last at least half a century, bonded to a shell reinforced with two layers of fiberglass and vinyl ester resin, over what it calls an anti-moisture base.

What the documents showTreated lumber resists rot and a frame bonded to the shell stiffens it, but 'half a century' describes the lumber, not a test of the spa, and Dynasty publishes no lumber sizes or laminate thickness.

Who else does itWood frames are widespread, from Endless Pools' R200 to Master Spas' engineered wood frame, while Endless Pools' E-Series and Jacuzzi's J-16 use galvanized steel.

The catch

Plywood underneath on the swim spas. Every Aquex page in the 2026-27 brochure lists a 'Treated Plywood Bottom', while Dynasty's brand-wide pages show an ABS 'PermaSeal' floor and a 'Dynacrete' base. Wood that stays wet can rot if a leak goes unnoticed, so ask which base your model has.

Common20-year shell, "5-year" equipment warrantyDynasty's brochure headlines 20 years on the shell structure, 5 years on electrical equipment and plumbing, 3 on the surface and 1…'Five years' means three, then half

What they sayDynasty's brochure headlines 20 years on the shell structure, 5 years on electrical equipment and plumbing, 3 on the surface and 1 on other components, with labor paid through its own extended program.

What the documents showThe 20-year structure term is real but covers water loss only, the 3-year surface term is short, and the five-year lines are three years in full plus two at half cost.

Who else does itLong structure terms are routine: PDC lists 35 years on TruSwim structure and Artesian lifetime on its TidalFit Core Swimmer, against Master Spas' 10.

The catch

'Five years' means three, then half. Equipment and plumbing are covered in full for three years, then Dynasty pays 50% of parts and labor in years four and five. Coverage ends with the first owner, a trip charge applies to service after delivery, and if Dynasty takes the spa back to the factory, removal, delivery and reinstallation are on you.

What the card saysTerms run from the purchase date or 18 months from manufacture, whichever comes first; registration is due within 30 days of delivery.

Terms run from the purchase date or 18 months from manufacture, whichever comes first; registration is due within 30 days of delivery. A reasonable trip charge applies to service after the initial delivery; the owner must provide full access, and Dynasty isn't liable for removing or rebuilding any surrounding structure. If Dynasty returns the spa to the factory, removal, return, delivery and reinstallation are the owner's cost (the manual says the same of transport, removal and re-installation for any replacement). Other components (audio, lights, LED controls, ozone, valves, diverters, jet internals) get one year; audio labor 90 days; no labor on jet internals, cabinet panels or tightening loose unions. The card excludes the insulating cover, but Dynasty's claim page gives supplied and replacement covers one year. Void for repairs by anyone other than Dynasty or its authorized agent, commercial use, ground movement, neglect or misuse; freeze damage, sun exposure, improper chemistry and trichlor damage are excluded. The manual adds that stainless steel rust and loose pump or heater unions aren't covered. The same card covers Dynasty's hot tub collections.
