Hungarian-built tubs from what the maker calls Europe's largest spa factory, sold on low running costs, a heat pump tucked into the step, a patented electronic diverter and list prices posted right on the website.

The pitchUnlike most dealer brands, Wellis puts a US list price on every model online, so shoppers can compare before they walk into a showroom.
Our takeThe prices are there: PeakLife runs from $14,699 (Teide Life Deluxe) to $29,499 (Olympus Life), and a Rhode Island dealer lists the same or lower figures. They are list prices, though; the site still routes you to a quote, and street prices can land below them.
Who else has it: Among dealer-sold brands, Jacuzzi, Sundance and Dimension One also publish list prices; American Whirlpool, Vita Spa and many others show none.

The pitchWellis presents itself as Europe's largest hot tub maker, with every tub built in its own Hungarian plants on robotic lines and checked under a TÜV quality program. US dealers repeat the 'leading manufacturer in Europe' line.
Our takeThe plants are real (the original Dabas site plus a 29,000 m² plant in Ózd that opened in 2021, per trade press), but 'Europe's largest' is the maker's own claim and it publishes no TÜV certificate details. European build also means the jets, manifolds and fittings are metric, Wellis-only parts, even though the Gecko and Balboa electronics are standard.
Who else has it: Other major US dealer brands, such as Hot Spring, Master Spas, Cal Spas and Marquis, build in North America, and US-market Jacuzzi and Sundance tubs come from Mexico.
The catch (partly true)Everything wet is metric and Wellis-only, so jets, jet bodies, manifolds and fittings come through Wellis's own channel rather than off a US parts shelf. The factory parts shop prices them low (a 3-inch jet at €14 before VAT, jet bodies from €4.62) but ships from Hungary by DHL in 10 to 12 working days, and a US seller lists a compatible 3-inch Wellis jet at $57. A Wellis dealer said in 2022 that the company keeps two US warehouses, which Wellis itself doesn't publish. €14 before VAT per 3-inch jet at the factory shop; $57 per compatible 3-inch jet from a US seller

The pitchThe 'Life' line, named for its green focus, is sold as the most energy-efficient hot tub in the world, at about 2.7 to 2.9 kWh a day, thanks to insulation boards, a heat-reflecting foil and a low-draw circulation pump.
Offered on: PeakLife and CityLife 'Life' models
Our takeOne TÜV-tested label is solid: the 238-gallon Teide Life Premium shows 113 W standby against a 184 W cap for its size, though its tested-cover fields are blank. The brand-wide 'world's greenest' chart is another matter: it compares a Wellis fitted with the optional heat pump and measured by Wellis with competitors' California figures taken without one, all priced at a European electricity rate.
Who else has it: Every major brand markets efficiency. The comparable number is tested standby power on the California/APSP-14 energy label, which any tub sold in California needs.
The catchThe 2.7 to 2.9 kWh-a-day headline is a 60°F standby test result, not a real-world bill, and Wellis's own product page credits it to the optional heat pump. The one published TÜV label (Teide Life Premium, 238 gal) shows 113 W standby, about 2.7 kWh a day, and says the figure leaves out use and extreme cold; its tested-cover fields are blank. The Everest Life Premium page attributes its 2.9 kWh a day to the Smart-In Step heat pump and the insulation.
The catchNot every Wellis gets the Life insulation: some CityLife models ship with thin foam and sell the Scandinavian board insulation as an option. The Rental Escape page lists 0.4-inch polyfoam as standard with the Scandinavian package optional, and the Hercules page also lists the Scandinavian package as optional.
The catchThe 2.7 to 2.9 kWh-a-day headline is a 60°F standby test result, not a real-world bill, and Wellis's own product page credits it to the optional heat pump.

The pitchAn optional step hides a 3 kW heat pump that heats or cools the water on a fraction of a normal heater's power, which Wellis puts at 70 to 75% less heating energy, with storage and a USB charger built in.
Offered on: Optional on PeakLife and most CityLife models
Our takeIt's a real $2,150 add-on, and heat pumps do use far less power than resistance heaters in mild weather. But Wellis rates it only down to 23°F (-5°C), gives no efficiency (COP) figures, and its catalog's headline running costs assume this option is fitted.
Who else has it: Jacuzzi lists its J4 and J5 as heat-pump ready, and stand-alone spa heat pumps can be added to most tubs; building one into the step is Wellis's own twist.
The catchIt's rated only down to 23°F (-5°C), and Wellis gives no efficiency (COP) or power-draw figure, so in cold-winter states it can't help on the days when heating costs the most. The accessory page gives a -5°C to +40°C operating range and a 70 to 75% saving claim, with no COP, input power, noise rating or word on what heats the tub below that range.

The pitchA push-button motorized valve replaces the big manual diverter and swings water between jet groups every few seconds for a pulsing massage, so two pumps do what four did on older models.
Offered on: PeakLife Premium editions
Our takeThe patent is granted in the US and Europe and documents a valve with about a fifth of the pressure loss of a T-style diverter. The energy saving is quoted as 30%, 41% or 45% depending on the source, mostly by comparing a new two-pump Everest with an old four-pump one, and the 'patented in 152 countries' line reflects a lapsed international filing, not 152 patents.
Who else has it: The valve itself is patented (US 11,466,785). Automatic jet sequencing exists elsewhere: Dimension One's Dynamic Massage Sequencer and Caldera's UltraMasseuse lounge both cycle jets on programs.
The catchA motorized valve is one more part to fail, and its parts aren't cheap: the actuator alone lists at €380 to €453 before VAT, against about €9 for a manual diverter handle. Wellis's parts shop sells the electric diverter as separate valve, actuator, control module and panel parts, so a failure can mean more than one part. Actuator €380.00 to €452.94, valve body €161.53, control module €141.15 and control panel €64.09, all before VAT (wellisparts.com)
The catchThe WOW trim buys electronics, not pump power: the Everest Life Premium has two 3 HP pumps where the Deluxe has three, yet lists $4,000 higher. The Everest pages list two 3 HP pumps at $24,999 (Premium, with WOW, audio and app) and three at $20,999 (Deluxe). The Kilimanjaro and Elbrus trims are priced the same way.

The pitchPremium editions add phone-app control, so the tub can be heated on the drive home, plus AquaSoul Pro speakers with a subwoofer and glowing EvenLight jets.
Offered on: PeakLife Premium editions and Olympus Life; the app is also standard on Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa and PRO models
Our takeThe features are real, but 'Deluxe' is the lower trim and lacks them as standard, and Wellis's own pages disagree on the AquaSoul subwoofer rating (108 W or 288 W). Audio and LEDs carry a 1-year warranty, and an early owner found the app far more limited than the touchscreen.
Who else has it: Wi-Fi control and built-in audio are also sold by Hot Spring, Caldera, Jacuzzi, Sundance, Bullfrog and Master Spas; Wellis's app runs on Gecko's in.touch 2 module, as American Whirlpool's does.

The pitchThe frame is Wellis PolyStyrol, a recycled polymer with no wood in it, warranted for life along with the insulation, plus 7 years on the PeakLife shell structure.
Our takeThe frame promise is real, but the shell and equipment terms (7 and 5 years on PeakLife, 5 and 3 on CityLife) trail the 10-year shell terms common on US premium lines. They're also shorter than Wellis's own 2022 US terms and its European warranty, both of which give 10 years on the shell.
Who else has it: Bullfrog's injection-molded ABS EnduraFrame is the closest match and also carries a lifetime warranty; MAAX's American Whirlpool and Vita Spa use steel frames with lifetime coverage.
The catchThe warranty clock can start before you own the tub: it runs from delivery or one year after manufacture, whichever comes first. It also ends if you sell the tub. All of these conditions are on the current US warranty page, which also voids coverage after a repair attempt by anyone who isn't authorized.

The pitchEvery tub ships with WellisGuard, an electronic hygiene device that Wellis says lets owners use less chlorine and keeps the water clearer, and which it describes as patent-protected.
Our takeWellis doesn't say how the device works and backs its superiority claim with an in-house bacteria chart that gives no method. A patent search by the company's name turned up filings for the diverter and a support structure but none for a hygiene device. It still has to be used with chlorine and pH control, like any ozone or UV system.
Who else has it: The name is Wellis's own, but the US manual's sanitizer codes list only Ozmix ozone, UV-C and Gecko in.clear, with no separate WellisGuard entry, so it appears to be ozone-based. Mixing ozone into spa water is old technology (Dimension One patented a system in 1997), and most brands offer ozone or UV.
The catch (partly true)Wellis won't say what WellisGuard is, and its parts listings point to an ordinary ozone generator paired with a Wellis mixing chamber. The factory shop sells ozone generators at €46.68 to €56.50 before VAT and an Ozmix set of ozone and mixer housings at €130.11; a Wellis newsletter names those housings as its protected parts, and a European parts site matches a Wellis ozonator to a Joyonway part rated 50 mg/h. Whether WellisGuard is exactly Ozmix is not stated. Ozone generator €46.68 to €56.50 and Ozmix housing set €130.11, both before VAT (wellisparts.com)
The catchThe evidence is Wellis's own: its two-round test ran alongside chlorine tablets, named no lab or method standard, and the ozone system carries only a 1-year warranty. The 2022 newsletter reports colony counts from in-house trials (for example about 1,500 against 4,000 for its earlier ozone-plus-UV setup) with chlorine in use; the US warranty page gives the ozone system 1 year.
What rivals and critics say3
Critics say Wellis shells are cradled by a frame rather than self-supporting, and that some tubs they saw had almost no insulation. Our check: Partly true: Wellis's own spec tables list a separate polymer frame carrying the shell, and some CityLife models list only 1 cm or 0.4 in of foam as standard. The 2025 Life models added thicker board insulation, and the plastic frame won't rot.
A spa technician argues Wellis uses too many small jets instead of fewer, larger, swappable ones. Our check: A matter of taste; Wellis publishes jet flow only for two small 120V models, so per-jet power can't be compared on paper. The back of your hand on a running display is the real check.
A forum poster relays that a US dealer saw many failures and poor US support. Our check: Second-hand, but not baseless: Wellis USA's Better Business Bureau profile shows 54 complaints closed in three years, though the same company also sells BuenoSpa-brand tubs, and the wet-end parts are Wellis-only metric parts. Recent reviews do praise fast parts help from Wellis staff.
The Wellis lineup. Entry line first, flagship last.
31 hot tubs in 2 series. Tap a tub for its seats, size, power and price, or save it to compare.
The value line: 3 to 7 seats, Easy7 or Easy4 keypads, MyMusic audio as an option, plus 120V plug-and-play versions (Oslo, Milano, Marbella) and a rental-property model.
The upper line from Wellis, a Hungarian maker. Most models come in two trims: 'Deluxe' (more pumps, fewer electronics) and a pricier 'Premium' (electronic WOW diverter, app, audio, lit jets). The Olympus Life is the flagship.
Quick parts and support repliesMost recent five-star reviews praise fast, helpful answers from Wellis staff, such as identifying a part from a photo and shipping it quickly. Wellis invites these reviews, and most rate a support contact, not years of ownership.
Jets, looks and extrasAn early owner praised the number and feel of the jets, the styling, Bluetooth audio and a thick cover; the post came two weeks into ownership.
Replies to every negative reviewTrustpilot shows Wellis answering all negative reviews, usually within a week, though some reviewers say the replies didn't lead to a fix.
What they complain about
Slow warranty follow-throughRecent one- and two-star reviews from the US, UK and Germany describe claims that stalled for months after an inspection and repairs still open after a year.
Control panel and board failuresThe touchscreen, control panel or Gecko control board is the part owners most often say failed, sometimes followed by the wrong replacement or a long wait.
Worn jet sealsA few owners say jet seals wore out within two to five years and weren't sold as separate parts. Wellis's US warranty excludes gaskets.

Late or damaged deliveries Reports include tubs and replacement covers arriving months late, and units delivered with shipping damage, missing seals or valves that didn't work.
What decides whether a tub lasts is mostly hidden under the shell. Here is what Wellis publishes about it, and where it publishes nothing, we say so.
NoSelf-supporting shellA polymer frame and ABS base carry the tub.
PartlyClamped plumbingBarbed and glued fittings; clamping is likely but unconfirmed.
YesManifold-fed jetsManifolds split water to each jet, not jet to jet.
How it's kept hotInsulation'Life Scandinavian' rigid boards fitted into the frame and floor plus reflective foil; some Premium tubs add an air-pocket floor.
NoSelf-supporting shell · Applies to: All models (PeakLife and CityLife both list a WPS frame)
Every spec sheet lists the shell and the Wellis PolyStyrol frame as separate parts, with the frame attached to the shell and to the floor pan. The shell is not built to hold the load on its own. The frame is recycled polymer rather than wood, so it will not rot or rust.
Trunk lines are glued rigid PVC, and jets connect by barb to flexible reinforced hose. The factory stocks Oetiker clamps sized for those barbs, but no photo or service document shows how the joint is actually finished. The no-leak warranty runs three to five years depending on series.
YesManifold-fed jets · Applies to: All models (from the current parts catalog; each model's layout not checked)
The factory parts shop sells manifolds with 4 to 12 outlets, each feeding one jet on its own line. That keeps pressure even instead of draining it down a chain. Short runs of two or three jets may still be teed off directly.
Control packs and pumps are industry-standard parts any technician can buy and diagnose. Jets, manifolds, and pipe are metric Wellis part numbers with no equivalent on a US shelf. A Waterway jet body will not fit, so wet-end repairs go through the Wellis channel.
YesCompression-fitted jets · Applies to: All series
Wellis sells its current jet bodies as sets with a housing, a back nut and a gasket in 2-, 3- and 5-inch sizes, and sells the nuts on their own. Older V1 and V2 bodies and a few specialty jets aren't documented. Nothing shows glued bodies.
PartlyAdjustable jets · Applies to: Some seats and models, not the whole tub
Wellis claims direction and strength control on its Expert massage seat. The rest of the tub is managed by air regulators and a diverter that shifts pump output between whole zones. No manual or teardown shows how many individual jet faces turn or close.
PartlyService network · Applies to: All models, with a caveat for US buyers
Anyone can order parts from the Wellis webshop at listed prices without a dealer login, which beats several US brands. Stock and pricing are European, so a US owner waits on an overseas order or goes through a dealer. Wellis only entered the US around 2020, so dealer coverage is thin.
