Owners like
- Fast, knowledgeable spare-parts and aftercare response from Wellis staff. The dominant positive pattern in recent Trustpilot reviews. Owners describe staff identifying a part from a photo, shipping gaskets or fittings quickly, arranging reimbursement, and walking them through setup. Several name individual support agents.
- Jet count and jet feel, styling, Bluetooth audio, thick cover. The one genuine owner write-up we found (a 2020 Monte Rosa owner, two weeks in) praised the look, 'a ton of jets' that 'work really well', Bluetooth speakers, a phone app for jets and lights, a very thick cover and multi-color LED lighting. Trustpilot positives echo jets and modern design.
- Strong feature-per-dollar value; solid build for the price tier. A dealer who had sold Wellis for two years called them well built, cited a thick ABS base pan and maintenance-free construction, said they had 'been very reliable for us', and rated them equal to any mid-tier brand outdoors in Minnesota when ordered with the Extreme cover and Extreme insulation.
- Company publicly answers negative reviews. Trustpilot reports Wellis replied to 100% of negative reviews, typically within one week. That fits its BBB A+ rating and accreditation, which reward answering complaints.
Owners complain about
- Warranty claims stall: long silences, delays of months to years, approved claims unpaid. The best-documented complaint, reported on every channel and on both continents. The pattern: a fault is reported, an inspection happens, then months of unanswered calls and emails. In one case a shell-cracking claim was inspected in May 2025 with no communication until late September 2025.
- Control system failures: topside touchscreen, control panel and Gecko control board. Repeated reports of the electronics failing. In one case a Gecko operating-system fault went unresolved under warranty for over a year, and Gecko reportedly suggested the owner open the tub and switch wires themselves. In another, the wrong replacement control panel was proposed.
- Jet seals, gaskets and jet assemblies degrading, and jet controllers detaching. Owners report jet seals deteriorating within two years in one case and all of them degrading within five years in another, and complain that the seals are not sold as separate parts. Another report describes nine jet controllers coming off their plastic tubes as the tubes broke.
- Delivery delays, damage in transit, and units arriving with factory assembly defects. Reports include a spa cover paid for in October 2025 and still undelivered the following March; a motor the factory didn't secure for shipping, which damaged the motor, wiring, plumbing and structure; a $6,200 spa delivered damaged; and missing jet seals.
- Swim spa (W-Flow) shell and cosmetic defects requiring repeated whole-unit replacement. A German owner describes a first W-Flow being replaced, a second arriving with acrylic shell defects, and a third, in March 2026, again showing a defect pattern on the shell floor by the filter inlets, a deep scratch through the acrylic, silicone smeared around LED fittings, a dull, uneven interior and acrylic chipping on the outer rim.
- Shell support and insulation criticized as budget-tier construction. A poster who inspected Wellis tubs while shopping said they use cradle-supported rather than self-supporting shells and had 'practically no insulation', placing them below Hot Spring, Sundance, Marquis, Artesian and Bullfrog. A spa technician separately rated them 'middle low middle' and criticized the jetting as too many small jets.
- Control panel and app hard to use. The one genuine owner write-up we found listed these cons: the touchscreen is hard to use with wet hands; the phone app only toggles jets and lights and reads temperature, far less than the touchscreen offers; and the LED controls must be cycled on and off repeatedly to return to a chosen color.
- Thin US service and parts network; dealer failure leaves owners stranded. A 2022 forum poster passed on that someone who sold Wellis in the US for about a year saw a lot of failures and very bad US support. A British owner's dealer went bankrupt, leaving them unable to recommission the tub and unsure where the warranty stood. Other reports cite no support for replacement pillows.
Wellis as a company
How it’s built. The 8 build checks, in plain words.
The same eight checks we run on every brand, answered from Wellis’ own documents. Tap one for what it means and the evidence.
Self-supporting shellDoes the shell hold itself up?No

A polymer frame and ABS base carry the tub.
Every spec sheet lists the shell and the Wellis PolyStyrol frame as separate parts, with the frame attached to the shell and to the floor pan. The shell is not built to hold the load on its own. The frame is recycled polymer rather than wood, so it will not rot or rust.
Applies to: All models (PeakLife and CityLife both list a WPS frame)
Clamped plumbingAre the hoses glued and clamped?Partly

Barbed and glued fittings; clamping is likely but unconfirmed.
Trunk lines are glued rigid PVC, and jets connect by barb to flexible reinforced hose. The factory stocks Oetiker clamps sized for those barbs, but no photo or service document shows how the joint is actually finished. The no-leak warranty runs three to five years depending on series.
Applies to: All models
Manifold-fed jetsDoes each jet get its own line?Yes

Manifolds split water to each jet, not jet to jet.
The factory parts shop sells manifolds with 4 to 12 outlets, each feeding one jet on its own line. That keeps pressure even instead of draining it down a chain. Short runs of two or three jets may still be teed off directly.
Applies to: All models (from the current parts catalog; each model's layout not checked)
Standard partsCan any repair tech buy the parts?Partly

Balboa and Gecko electronics; everything wet is Wellis-only.
Control packs and pumps are industry-standard parts any technician can buy and diagnose. Jets, manifolds, and pipe are metric Wellis part numbers with no equivalent on a US shelf. A Waterway jet body will not fit, so wet-end repairs go through the Wellis channel.
Applies to: All models
Compression-fitted jetsAre the jet bodies held by a nut, not glue?Yes

Jet bodies bolt in with a nut and gasket, per Wellis's own parts store.
Wellis sells its current jet bodies as sets with a housing, a back nut and a gasket in 2-, 3- and 5-inch sizes, and sells the nuts on their own. Older V1 and V2 bodies and a few specialty jets aren't documented. Nothing shows glued bodies.
Applies to: All series
Adjustable jetsCan you turn each jet up or down?Partly

One seat has adjustable jets; most control is zone-level.
Wellis claims direction and strength control on its Expert massage seat. The rest of the tub is managed by air regulators and a diverter that shifts pump output between whole zones. No manual or teardown shows how many individual jet faces turn or close.
Applies to: Some seats and models, not the whole tub
Service networkCan someone near you fix it?Partly

Factory parts shop is open, but it ships from Hungary.
Anyone can order parts from the Wellis webshop at listed prices without a dealer login, which beats several US brands. Stock and pricing are European, so a US owner waits on an overseas order or goes through a dealer. Wellis only entered the US around 2020, so dealer coverage is thin.
Applies to: All models, with a caveat for US buyers
American made?Built in Ózd, Hungary.No

Ózd, Hungary: Second plant, an HUF 8.5 billion project begun in 2020. The company told HVG in 2024 that all its hot tubs are made here.
Applies to: All models

What you get.
PeakLife. The upper line from Wellis, a Hungarian maker. Most models come in two trims: 'Deluxe' (more pumps, fewer electronics) and a pricier 'Premium' (electronic WOW diverter, app, audio, lit jets). The Olympus Life is the flagship.
What stands out
- Premium trim adds real electronics. Per the 2025 catalog, Premium editions add the WOW electronic water diverter, Wi-Fi app control, AquaSoul Pro audio (2.1 or 4.1).
- Circulation pump and sanitizer standard. Every PeakLife tub has the energy-saving W-EC circulation pump, the WellisGuard hygiene system and MicroPlus antibacterial filters.
Worth knowing
- 'Deluxe' is the lower trim. Deluxe editions cost $2,000 to $4,000 less than Premium and list no WOW diverter, app, sound system or heat-exchanger prep.
2 more about the PeakLife
- Shorter warranty than US luxury rivals. The warranty gives 7 years on the shell structure and 5 years on pumps, control box and display.
- Energy figures are self-measured. The 2.7-2.9 kWh/day catalog figures are based on Wellis/TÜV measurements with the optional heat pump under CEC test conditions, not a CEC database listing.
