How it works

This site is free because dealers pay us. When you send us your details, we may connect you with one dealer near you, the one that fits you best, and that dealer pays us a referral fee. That’s what funds the site. You never pay us, and no manufacturer pays us. How we make money.

What we collect

What you put in a form: your name, email, phone number and ZIP code, anything you add (the tubs you like, your timeline, budget or a note) and your quiz answers.
Proof you agreed: the words next to the box you ticked, and when and on which page you ticked it.
A little tracking on this site: which pages you open here, how long you stay on each, and how you arrived (a search, an ad or a link). It stays in your browser and reaches us only if you send a form. We don’t record what you type, your screen or your session.
Your IP address and rough location (city level) when you send a form.
Price reports are anonymous. We don’t ask for a name, email or phone number.

We don’t want sensitive information, so please don’t put health or financial details in a note.

Who gets it

One dealer. We send your details, and what you’re looking for, to the one dealer we think fits you best. They don’t get your browsing history or IP address. We connect you with a second dealer, or switch you to a different one, only if you ask or say yes.
The services that run the site for us: Cloudflare (hosting), Formspree (form delivery), and our email, phone and texting tools.
Authorities, if the law requires it, or a buyer if the site is ever sold.

We don’t sell your details to lead lists, data brokers or marketers.

Calls, texts and email

Ticking the box means we and that one dealer may call, text and email you about hot tubs and swim spas, even if your number is on a do-not-call list. Agreeing isn’t a condition of buying anything. Message and data rates may apply. We reach out in person, with no robocalls or recorded messages.

To stop: reply STOP to any text, reply “unsubscribe” to any email, or email info@hottubfinder.com. We stop, and we tell the dealer to stop.

Do not sell or share my information

Because dealers pay us for introductions, some state laws call an introduction a “sale”. If you don’t want to be connected with any dealer, or with any more dealers, email info@hottubfinder.com with “Do not sell” in the subject. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it the same way and check with you before connecting you with a dealer.

Your rights

You can ask what we have about you, have it corrected or have it deleted. Email info@hottubfinder.com from the address you gave us, and we’ll answer within 45 days. When we delete your details, we ask the dealer to delete theirs too. These rights apply wherever you live, and using them never changes how we treat you.

California: the information we collect is listed above (contact details, the tubs you’re interested in, your activity on this site and rough location), and the one dealer may receive it as described in who gets it. The quiz results and later course lessons ask for your details because introductions are how we’re paid; signing up is your choice, and you can withdraw any time. You can also ask once a year which dealer we passed your details to.

The rest

Kids: this site is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect details from anyone under 18.
How long we keep it: form details and proof of consent for up to five years, since laws on calls and texts allow claims for that long. The tracking in your browser clears after 180 days without a visit.
Security: we use encrypted connections and limit who can see your details. Nothing online is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we’ll tell you.
Changes: we post any change here and update the date at the top, before it applies.
