  • Propeller current: Hydrodrive

A propeller moves a wide, even column of water with no air in it, the kind of current we rate best for swimming in place. Endless Pools puts the current at 21" wide. 116 speed settings.

No California listing we could match

California files dual-temperature swim spas as combination spas, and those listings describe only the hot tub side, so there's no standby figure for the swim side. Seven Endless Pools swim spas have one, from 351 to 501 W.

Included GFCI subpanel (two 30 A breakers) on one 60 A, 230 V supply. On 60 A the swim-side heater won't heat while the swim machine or treadmill runs ('circuit saver'), and the spa heater stops when the second spa jet pump runs. 80 A lets both spa pumps and the spa heater run together; 110 A lets everything run at once.

Swim currentOnly the E-Series swims on Hydrodrive, a hydraulic propeller; the X and R Series…Partly

The four E-Series models get Hydrodrive: one propeller on a 5 hp hydraulic unit, a current Endless puts at 21 inches wide and 16 deep, and a top pace of 1:08 per 100 yards. They start at $55,999. The X-Series uses four airless jets, three round plus a low 'river jet' for lift, on two 2.5 hp pumps trimmed by diverter valves. The R-Series uses three airless jets on one two-speed 2.5 hp pump, rated at 215 gallons a minute, and Endless pitches it for play and aquatic workouts.

Applies to: All nine models. E-Series (E500, E550, E700, E2000): propeller. X-Series (X500, X2000): four airless jets on two pumps. R-Series (R200, R220, R500): three airless jets on one two-speed pump.

Room to swimNot on the product pages, but 2019-2020 drawings show 6.5 to 11.5 feet of open lane…Partly

The compare tool lists interior dimensions as 'not available'. Architectural drawings from 2019 and 2020 print the lane from the current back to the seats or the rear wall: 6'6" on the R200, 7'6" on the E500, 9'5" on the X500, 9'6" on the E700 and R500, and 11'5.5" on the seatless E550. On the E2000 and X2000 the printed 12'0" and 13'0" run to the spa divider across the swim side's bench seat and steps, so they overstate the open lane; no drawing was found for the R220. Widths come in two kinds: the E-Series and X2000 drawings measure 5'10" (6'9" on the E550) from rim to rim, while the X500 (5'2"), R200 and R500 (5'0") drawings measure only the lane floor inside the side ledges, so the two sets can't be compared. Water is 46 inches deep in the 58-inch E500, E550 and E700, 48 inches in the 20-foot models and 40 inches in the 50-inch X500 and R-Series; the seatless, 94-inch-wide E550 is Endless's pick for breaststroke and butterfly.

Applies to: Printed open-lane lengths for E500, E550, E700, X500, R200 and R500; divider-to-current swim-side lengths for E2000 and X2000; nothing printed for the R220; depth for all nine models.

Frame and shellE- and X-Series sit on a 14-gauge galvanized steel frame over an ABS base pan; the…Partly

Endless prints the frame gauge, which few makers do, and its spec sheets list a thermoformed ABS base pan under every model except the R200, whose own sheet we couldn't check. What's bonded behind the acrylic isn't published; the warranty only calls the shell 'plastic, thermoformed material'. The 10-year structure warranty is a no-leak promise: it pays for water lost through a shell defect, not for a crack that hasn't leaked.

Applies to: Steel frame: E500, E550, E700, E2000, X500, X2000. Wood frame: R200, R220, R500. ABS base pan confirmed on every model except the R200 (not stated in its reachable documents).

Site prepEndless requires a 6-inch reinforced slab or a deck rated over 250 lb/sq ft, and 60…Yes

The 2025 pre-delivery guide asks for a reinforced concrete pad at least six inches thick, says damage from an inadequate foundation isn't covered, and suggests an engineer before any elevated deck; filled weights run from 12,515 lb (R220) to 25,795 lb (E2000), counting 10 occupants. E and X models need a 60 A, 230 V breaker feeding the included GFCI subpanel, R models 30 A. On 60 A the E500, E550 and E700 heater stops while the jet pump runs (80 A fixes it), and the E2000 needs 110 A to run everything at once.

Applies to: All nine models.

Running costCalifornia lists Endless's single-zone models at 351 to 501 standby watts, 70 to…Partly

The E700 uses 70% of its California allowance and the R200 84%, with the E500 (432 W), E550 (501 W), X500 (464 W), R220 (351 W) and R500 (464 W) in between. The 20-foot E2000 and X2000 are listed as combination spas, and their listed figures (175 of 220 W) cover only the hot tub side. Endless calls its insulation a three-layer 'Tri-Thermic Barrier' without saying what the layers are; no heat pump appears on any product page, and single-zone models top out at 99°F.

Applies to: Standby figures: all seven single-zone models; E2000 and X2000 hot tub side only. Insulation: all models.

Dual zoneThe 20-foot E2000 and X2000 pair a 15-foot swim side with a 5-foot hot tub, each…Yes

Each zone gets its own 4 kW heater, circulation pump, filters, ozone unit and LCD control panel, and the spa side sets up to 104°F while Endless sells the E2000's swim side at 85°F. The catch is power: on the standard 60 A hookup the E2000's swim-side heater stops whenever the swim machine or treadmill runs, and the spa heater stops when both spa pumps run; everything at once takes 110 A. The other seven models are one body of water that can't be set above 99°F.

Applies to: E2000 and X2000. The E500, E550, E700, X500, R200, R220 and R500 are single-zone.

Service accessPanels lift off and Endless asks for 2 feet of clearance, but the E-Series…Partly

Drawings recommend 2 feet of access around the whole spa; the equipment sits behind the seats on most models, under the control panel on the E550 and along the spa end of the 20-footers, and recessed installs need 36 inches of crawl space at the equipment door. On E-Series models the 2026 maintenance schedule calls for new hydraulic fluid and filter every 500 hours of use and a new submerged swim-machine motor, plus treadmill motor and belt, after six years. The warranty is void if anyone but Watkins' authorized representative attempts repairs, and it won't pay to remove a deck or reinstall the spa.

Applies to: All models; hydraulic maintenance applies to E-Series only.

Warranty termsE and X Series: 10 years no-leak shell and 5 on parts and labor, but only 2 on the…Partly

The E- and X-Series card gives 10 years against water loss from the shell, 7 on the surface and 5 on plumbing, components, heater and cabinet, with parts and labor paid but dealer travel charges possible. The Hydrodrive swim machine and the treadmill have separate two-year cards, and the R-Series card falls to 5 years on the surface and 3 on everything else. All of them end when the spa changes hands, exclude rentals, and won't pay to remove a deck or reinstall the spa.

Applies to: E-Series and X-Series card; Hydrodrive and treadmill cards (E-Series); RecSport card (R-Series).

Cover and lifterCover and lifter cost extra on every model; Endless sells a polyester-fabric foam…Partly

Every product page lists the Watkins cover, the Uprite lifter set, CoverCradle and Easy Slider as optional, so the starting prices include no cover or lifter, even though the FAQ says the swim spas 'come with covers'. Endless says its polyester cover won't absorb water but publishes no thickness, taper or density. California's listings name the cover each model was tested with, such as 305058C-X for the E500, so ask whether that's the cover you're getting.

Applies to: All nine models.

Service and originSold and serviced through about 250 dealers; Endless doesn't say where its swim…Partly

Endless says it has over 250 retailers across North America for swim spa demos and service; warranty claims go to the selling dealer first, then to Watkins Wellness in Vista, California. Its manuals and warranties carry Watkins' Vista address, and its headquarters and factory showroom are near Philadelphia, but no source we found says which plant builds the swim spas. Ask the dealer where the model is made and who services the hydraulic drive.

Applies to: All nine models.

What Endless Pools says about itEach claim, what the documents show, and any catch

What they saySalespeople lead with Hydrodrive, the hydraulically driven propeller Endless has built swim-in-place pools around since 1988: an airless current wider than your body, 116 pace settings, and a top pace of 1:08 per 100 yards.

What the documents showThe propeller, pace and current size are documented: one propeller on a 5 hp hydraulic unit, a current 21 inches wide and 16 deep. But the E-Series gets the base Hydrodrive, narrower than Endless's own 24-inch Plus and Pro currents (modular pools only) and PDC's 29-inch path, and the blog's '5,000 gallons per minute' is the figure the FAQ gives for Hydrodrive Pro, not for the swim spas. The '116 pace settings' holds for the E550, E700 and E2000 pages; the E500's page says 31.

Who else does itMost swim spas push water with jets. PDC's TruSwim uses two hydraulic propellers side by side, and Endless's own comparison blog says Michael Phelps swim spas use a propeller system too.

Applies to: E-Series: E500, E550, E700, E2000

The catch

Scheduled hydraulic overhauls, and a 2-year warranty. Endless's 2026 maintenance schedule calls for new hydraulic fluid and filter every 500 hours of use and a new submerged swim-machine motor after six years, a job the maker gives no price for. The swim machine has its own two-year warranty, against five years on the pumps and heater, and the current switches itself off after 30 minutes.

Few othersOptional underwater treadmillAny E-Series model can take a hydraulic treadmill set into the floor, so you can walk or run in the water with or without the…It shares the current's power and wears on a timer

What they sayAny E-Series model can take a hydraulic treadmill set into the floor, so you can walk or run in the water with or without the current; Endless calls it an exclusive.

What the documents showIt's real, running 0.5 to 5.5 mph with its own remote and optional pace display, but it's an option on top of the E-Series price and it runs off the swim machine's hydraulic system.

Who else does itSwimEx and HydroWorx build pools with treadmills; among delivered swim spas, Endless's comparison blog says Michael Phelps models offer none.

Applies to: E-Series only (option)

The catch

It shares the current's power and wears on a timer. The manual says top swim speed drops when the treadmill runs fast, a slight current flows even with only the treadmill on, and the belt can pulse at the slowest speeds. Its submerged motor and belt are due for replacement after six years, and it has its own two-year warranty.

What they sayE- and X-Series swim spas sit on a 14-gauge galvanized steel frame over a thermoformed ABS base pan, which Endless contrasts with wood-framed rivals.

What the documents showGauge and materials are on the product pages and spec sheets. Nothing is published about what's bonded behind the acrylic or how the frame carries the long walls.

Who else does itJacuzzi lists a galvanized steel frame and Propolymer base on its J-16 PowerPro, and Hydropool builds on steel; few makers print the gauge, as Endless does.

Applies to: E-Series and X-Series

What they sayEvery model shows a 'starting at' MSRP, from $26,499 for the R200 to $74,999 for the E2000, so buyers can compare before meeting a dealer.

What the documents showThe prices sit on each model page and in the compare tool, stated in US dollars.

Who else does itWellis and SwimEx also show US prices; most swim spa makers send shoppers to a dealer for pricing.

The catch

Starting prices leave out the cover and more. The compare page says prices exclude shipping, installation and taxes, and every model page lists the cover, lifter, Wi-Fi kit, sound system and fitness gear as options, with the treadmill extra on the E-Series. The propeller current starts at $55,999; below that you're buying jets.

What they sayThe 20-foot E2000 and X2000 pair a 15-foot swim side with a 5-foot hot tub, each with its own heater, pumps, filters and control panel, so the lane can sit near 85°F while the spa runs at 104°F.

What the documents showTwo 4 kW heaters, two control panels and the 104°F spa range are in the manuals and spec sheets.

Who else does itMaster Spas, Jacuzzi, Hydropool and PDC all sell dual-temperature swim spas.

Applies to: E2000, X2000

The catch

On 60 amps it can't do everything at once. The E2000 manual says that on the standard 60 A hookup the swim-side heater won't heat while the swim machine or treadmill runs, and the spa heater stops when both spa pumps run; everything at once takes 110 A. The other seven Endless models can't be set above 99°F, so none of them doubles as a 104°F hot tub.

What they saySalespeople point out that USA Swimming named Endless Pools its Official Swim Spas Supplier from January 2026 through the 2028 Olympic Team Trials.

What the documents showIt is a sponsorship: the announcement covers promotions and event activations, not a product test.

Who else does itThe title is Endless's alone; Master Spas leans on Michael Phelps's name the same way.

The catch

A sponsorship, not a test. USA Swimming's announcement describes on-site experiences and promotional campaigns at championship events and says nothing about testing or evaluating the spas.
