When to buy a hot tub
Short answer
No month is proven cheapest. Makers and the press point to fall and winter, holiday weekends, home shows and outgoing floor models. Most hot tubs have no price on the maker's site, so the dealer sets the number. Let the dealer quote you normally first and get the out-the-door price in writing. Then ask for their best price, starting at 10 to 15 percent off that quote, and say you'll sign today if they get there.
Why do hot tub prices move?
Because most of them are set by the dealer. 262 of the 390 hot tubs we track have no list price on the maker's site, so a “20% off” sign on those tubs is measured against a price nobody published. Demand is seasonal too, and a dealer with a full lot in the off-season has more reason to deal. Jacuzzi suggests asking whether floor models are discounted before new models arrive. Model years, and how seasonal the pool and spa trade is.
When do new hot tub models come out?
Each maker sets its own model year, so there is no single changeover month. Bullfrog's warranty defines its 2026 Calm Series as tubs made on or after January 1, 2026, and its M, A and STIL 2023 models as made on or after February 1, 2023. Master Spas showed its 2018 tubs to dealers in November 2017. Jacuzzi's current warranties cover the 2026 model year.

Common questions
What month is the cheapest to buy a hot tub?
No public data measures it. Reader's Digest names fall and winter as the best seasons and spring as the worst; Bullfrog points to the end and start of the year, Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Can you negotiate the price of a hot tub?
Usually. 262 of the 390 hot tubs we track have no price on the maker's site, so the dealer sets the price. Get a normal written quote first, then ask for their best price, starting at 10 to 15 percent off it, ready to sign today. Floor models and show stock can have more room.
Is 0% financing on a hot tub a good deal?
Only if the cash price is the same. Jacuzzi says its dealers run 0% APR promotions through Wells Fargo for qualified buyers, and Sundance tells buyers to watch for deferred-interest terms.
