V150P
12′ 6″ · jet current
An American hot tub brand's small swim line: two 12.5-foot hot tub and swim hybrids and two 14.5-foot swim spas, sold on high-flow Whitewater-4 jets and full-foam insulation.
4 models, 12′ 6″ to 14′ 6″ long.

A shopper who wet-tested several swim spas in 2019 found the Kona's current stronger than a Cal Spas Commander's and a TidalFit Pro EP-15's, though well short of a propeller-driven Endless Pools; a Hydropool AquaSport they tried later seemed to them about as good or a little better. This was the discontinued ATV-17 Kona, not today's V174K.

What salespeople lead with, checked against Marquis’s own documents and public records. Of these seven, one holds up and six are partly true.
The pitchReps sell the current on flow: Whitewater-4 swim jets rated 160 gpm in total on the V150P, 360 gpm on the V150W and up to 750 gpm from the Kona's six jets, the jet family Marquis used in its ATV training vessels.
Offered on: V150P, V150W, V174S, V174K
Our takeThe jets and pumps are real, but every gpm figure is Marquis' own rating with no test method, and a flow number says nothing about how wide or smooth the current is.
Why it mattersThe current is what you swim against, so its strength decides who can really swim in it.
Who else has it: Most swim spas at this price make their current with jets, among them Master Spas' H2X and Hydropool's Aquatic models. The Whitewater-4 name is Marquis' own.
The catchFlow figures are ratings, not measurements. Marquis gives no test for any swim gpm figure. The V150P's 160 gpm is exactly its one swim pump's rating, and the Kona page prints 750 gpm beside a liters figure (3,785 L/min) that works out to 1,000 gpm, the all-pumps total a dealer quotes. Hold your hand across the current on a running display before trusting any of them.
The pitchOnly the V174K Kona gets Whitewater-4 Plus jets; Marquis says an entrainment port lifts each jet from 100 to 125 gpm, for up to 750 gpm across six jets.
Offered on: V174K
Our takeThe 25% gain per jet comes with no test. Dealers list two 360 gpm swim pumps on the Kona against two 240 gpm on the V174S; if those dealer lists are right, pump size accounts for much of the gap between the two models.
Why it mattersIt's Marquis' case for the Kona as its serious swim trainer.
Who else has it: Marquis calls it a unique feature, and none of the other makers' pages we read name an entrainment port on their swim jets.
The pitchThe V150P seats eight around a swim current in a 150-inch vessel, and the V150W trades seats for workout room, so one purchase covers soaking, play and exercise.
Offered on: V150P, V150W
Our takeIt is a real hybrid, but Marquis aims the V150 current at recreational swimmers, recommends a tether for swim-in-place training, and the water is 43 in deep.
Why it mattersA family that mostly soaks but wants some exercise can skip buying two products.
Who else has it: Hybrids in this size are common: rival Hydropool pairs the V150 with its own 13-foot AquaPlay, and PDC sells its Splash as a hot tub and fitness hybrid.
The pitchMarquis says its swim spas are built by craftspeople in Las Vegas from imported and domestic components, by a brand founded in 1980.
Offered on: V150P, V150W, V174S, V174K
Our takeUS-built is true, and Marquis qualifies it with imported components. But the owner and the plant have changed since 2021, and trade press reported a switch in swim spa shell material that Marquis' own pages don't confirm.
Why it mattersA domestic factory can mean shorter shipping and quicker access to brand-specific parts.
Who else has it: Many swim spa makers build in the US, including Master Spas in Indiana, PDC in Pennsylvania and sister brand Artesian in the same Las Vegas plant.
The pitchEvery Marquis swim spa lists full-foam insulation, which reps pitch as the way to keep a big body of water warm for less.
Offered on: V150P, V150W, V174S, V174K
Our takeFull foam is standard on all four, and the V150s' California listings sit about a quarter under the legal limit. But those tests date from 2020, before the move to Las Vegas, and the V174 has no listing.
Why it mattersA swim spa holds several hot tubs' worth of water, so heat loss adds up every month.
Who else has it: Full foam is common on swim spas; Master Spas lists it on its Michael Phelps models, for example.
The pitchThe V150s use Marquis' V-O-L-T system: red V3 valves steer flow between seats, footwell jets and swim jets, and Directional, Orbital and Conal Jetpods give different massage styles.
Offered on: V150P, V150W (the V174 pages list 27 jet pods but don't describe the valve system)
Our takeReal, adjustable hardware, but Marquis' claim of laminar flow with no cross-currents or eddies comes with no evidence.
Why it mattersBeing able to steer the flow lets one spa suit swimmers and soakers.
Who else has it: Diverter valves between seats are standard, and swappable jet inserts are common, for example Bullfrog's JetPaks and Beachcomber's FlexJets.
The pitchMarquis quotes water depth, not just cabinet height: 43 in on the V150s and 48 inches in the 56-inch V174s.
Offered on: V150P, V150W, V174S, V174K
Our takeThe depths are printed on each model's spec table as water depth, separate from cabinet height.
Why it mattersDepth decides whether a tall swimmer's kick hits the floor and how deep you can jog.
Who else has it: Many makers print only cabinet height; Endless Pools is one that publishes a maximum water depth (46 in on its E500).
The ten checks from our swim spa buying guide, answered from what Marquis publishes and from public filings. Tap a row for the detail.
Marquis makes every current with its Whitewater-4 jets: three on one 2-speed 160 gpm pump in the V150P, four rated 360 gpm in the V150W, and six in each V174, with the Kona's 'Plus' jets rated up to 750 gpm. It says the V150 current suits recreational swimmers and suggests a tether for swim-in-place training. It doesn't say whether air is mixed in, how many speed steps there are or how wide the current is.

The V150P and V150W are 150 in long with 43 in of water; the V174S and V174K are 174 in (14.5 ft) long with 48 in. Marquis doesn't publish how long the open lane is from the jets to the first seat. The V150P gives up swim room for eight seats, which Marquis sells as a party spa; the V150W and both V174s have four seats and an open workout area.

Marquis' swim spa pages don't say what the shell is made of, what's bonded behind it, or what frame and base carry it. Trade press reported in 2023 that Marquis would switch its swim spas from polymer resin to acrylic when production moved to Las Vegas, and the V150 warranty covers the 'fiber glass structure' against leaks for only five years.

Marquis publishes filled weights and, for the V150s, a single 240 V, 50 A hookup. For the V174 it prints only '50/30A (60Hz)', which could mean two circuits or a choice of breaker, and gives no voltage. Marquis' own pad rules would be in its current owner's manual, which we couldn't access; the only swim spa pad advice we found (a 6 to 8 in concrete slab) is on an unverified copy of the old ATV site. The V150 warranty is void on any support surface other than the one Marquis' instructions specify.

Every Marquis swim spa lists full-foam insulation. California's database holds 2020 listings for the V150 at 323 W and the V150W at 349 W, against limits of 420 W and 465 W, both tested with a cover called 'V150 2LB'. We found no listing for the V174S or V174K, and no Marquis swim spa page mentions a heat pump.

Marquis calls the V150P and V150W hybrids of a hot tub and a swim spa, but in one vessel, so soakers and swimmers share one temperature. The V174s are single-zone too. If you want a separate hot side, Marquis doesn't make one.

The V150 warranty says the owner must give the technician unencumbered access to the equipment and leaves removal and replacement costs to the owner. All four models are full foam, so a hidden leak means cutting foam away. The V174's topside is Balboa's SpaTouch 3 touchscreen, but Marquis doesn't name its pumps, heater or pack.

The V150 card covers the 'fiber glass structure' against leaks for 5 years, the surface for 2, plumbing and equipment for 3 and the skirt for 1, for the original buyer only. The owner pays freight and removal or replacement labor, and the responding dealer may add service and travel fees. Marquis' warranty page has no card for the V174S or V174K, while its own Vector21 hot tubs get 10 years on structure. The card is a March 2021 PDF, and Marquis has since lengthened the terms of its Elite hot tub card, issued the same day, so ask for the current swim spa terms in writing.

None of the four swim spa pages lists a cover as standard, and all four offer two Cover Companion lifters as an option. The V150s' energy listings were tested with a cover called 'V150 2LB', and the V150 warranty drops surface coverage if you use a cover that isn't a Marquis DuraCover. Marquis' cover page describes UL-approved locking DuraCovers with a one-year warranty, written for hot tubs.

Marquis says its swim spas are made in Las Vegas, Nevada, with imported and domestic components; production moved there from Independence, Oregon in 2023, into the plant its sister brand Artesian uses. Only Marquis or its agent may do warranty work, the responding dealer may add travel fees, and Marquis says it finds another dealer or service company if yours closes. It publishes no dealer count.
