Splash 12
12′ 5″ · jet current
7′ 4″ of open water
Jacuzzi Group's Sundance brings its hot tub jets and water care to four single-zone jet swim spas, topped by the two-pump, 10-speed Surf 17.
4 models in three series, 12′ 4″ to 17′ 4″ long.
We haven’t found enough owner reports on Sundance Spas swim spas to call a pattern yet.
What salespeople lead with, checked against Sundance Spas’s own documents and public records. Of these seven, one holds up and six are partly true.
The pitchThe Surf 17's current comes from two pumps that only drive the swim jets, set from a 10-speed keypad at the swim end, with wide swim jets plus buoyancy and lane-extender jets so the current fills the lane.
Offered on: Surf 17
Our takeThe hardware is in Sundance's own 2026 spec sheet: two single-speed 5 hp swim pumps and eight swim-system jets, and its blog puts swim power at 10 hp. Sundance publishes no flow, current width or top speed, so only a running display shows how smooth and wide the current is.
Why it mattersSpeed steps let a child, a walker and a strong swimmer share one spa, and dedicated pumps keep the current from borrowing water from the seats.
Who else has it: Multi-speed jet currents are common: Hydropool's Aquatic models offer ten speeds from twin swim pumps, and Master Spas' Challenger uses six airless jets at variable speed. A speed keypad at the swim end is a nicer touch than most.
The pitchThe Stream 13 and 17 give the current its own pump, separate from two seat pumps, and add family touches: a grab bar over the swim jets, kids' booster seats, a traction mat and storage bins for goggles.
Offered on: Stream 13, Stream 17
Our takeTrue as stated: Sundance's product pages say one of the Stream's three pumps is dedicated to swimming, and the 2026 spec sheets list all three as 2-speed 4 hp. That one pump feeds only two round swim jets, the same 4 hp swim power Sundance quotes for the entry Splash 12.
Why it mattersFamilies get a place to teach kids to swim and a hot tub's worth of massage seats in one spa.
Who else has it: Separate swim and therapy pumps are normal on jet swim spas; grab bars and tethers come with most family models.
The catchA light current for laps. Two round jets on one 4 hp pump is the same swim power Sundance quotes for the entry Splash 12, against 10 hp on the Surf in the same 17-foot shell. Sundance markets the Stream around family fun, kids learning to swim and low-impact workouts, and its blog says the current meets everyone's needs without overpowering anyone, so a strong swimmer should see a Surf run beside it.
The pitchSundance fits the patented Fluidix massage jets from its hot tubs, which have no moving parts to wear: 48 therapy jets on the Stream and Surf, including Intelli-Jet, NEX and Reflex types, around two hydromassage lounges.
Offered on: Stream 13, Stream 17, Surf 17 (Splash 12: 33 jets incl. Fluidix Euro and NEX)
Our takeThe 2026 spec sheets list the Fluidix parts by number, and fluidic oscillator jets are established engineering. They improve the seats, not the swim current, and the Splash 12 carries a smaller set of 33 jets.
Why it mattersOwners who soak after a swim get hot tub massage, not a few token seat jets.
Who else has it: Fluidix jets are exclusive to Sundance, which co-developed them with Bowles Fluidics; the fluidic-nozzle patents are Bowles'.
The pitchClearRay UV-C treats the water as it circulates and a 130 sq ft MicroClean Ultra II filter traps fine debris, so owners use less sanitizer.
Offered on: Surf 17 and Splash 12 (ClearRay standard); Stream 13 and 17 (ClearRay optional); MicroClean Ultra II on Stream and Surf
Our takeClearRay is standard only on the Surf 17 and Splash 12; both Streams list it as an option. Sanitizer is still needed, and the Splash 12's spec sheet shows a single 50 sq ft skimmer filter, not MicroClean.
Why it mattersSundance's 2026 spec sheets put its swim spas at 964 to 1,930 gallons. Cleaner water between chemical doses means less work.
Who else has it: Sister brand Jacuzzi uses the same ClearRay system on its swim spas, and UV is offered by many brands.
The pitchThe Splash 12 is Sundance's entry swim spa: a 12-foot, nine-seat mini-pool with two swim jets, UV-C water care, a galvanized steel frame and plumbing ready for a heat pump that can also cool the water in summer.
Offered on: Splash 12
Our takeThe steel frame, UV-C and nine seats are in Sundance's own documents. The lane is 88 inches of a 148.7-inch cabinet, the current is two jets at 4 hp that share a pump, through a diverter, with five of the seats, and the heat pump that would cool it costs extra.
Why it mattersA smaller yard gets a heated play pool with massage seats for less than a full swim spa.
Who else has it: Small play-and-soak swim spas are common; Jacuzzi sells its J-12 Flow with near-identical wording.
The catchAbout seven feet of lane. Sundance's spec sheet gives the Splash 12 an 88-inch usable swim area, and its own blog places the model for fun and relaxation rather than training. A six-foot adult with arms overhead is already about that long before kicking, so treat it as a play pool with a current.
The pitchThe SmartTub app lets owners check and adjust the spa from a phone and sends diagnostic alerts to them and their dealer.
Offered on: Stream 13, Stream 17, Surf 17 (optional on their spec sheets); Splash 12 unconfirmed (the manual and product listing include it, its spec sheet does not)
Our takeIt runs on a cellular link built for outdoor use, but it's an option on these swim spas, not standard, and the Splash 12's spec sheet doesn't list it; Sundance's blog says most models can be upgraded, so confirm it for the Splash.
Why it mattersAlerts can flag a heater or pump fault before cold weather turns it into freeze damage, which Sundance's manual says isn't covered.
Who else has it: Jacuzzi uses the same SmartTub system, and most large brands offer a spa app.
The pitchSundance swim spas are sold and serviced by the same dealers that sell its hot tubs, at more than 750 locations, with the Jacuzzi Group behind the brand.
Our takeThe network is real and the swim spa manual routes service through the retailer. But Sundance publishes no swim spa warranty, and one of its dealers points Stream 13 buyers to the 880 hot tub warranty.
Why it mattersEvery swim spa repair is a house call, so a local technician who knows the brand matters.
Who else has it: Jacuzzi and Master Spas also sell swim spas through large hot tub dealer networks, and Endless Pools swim spas go through Hot Spring and Caldera dealers.
The catchNo written swim spa warranty online. Sundance's warranty page lists hot tub series only, and its spec sheets print '10/5/3 Year Limited' without saying what each number covers. A Sundance dealer's Stream 13 page links the 880 hot tub warranty and advertises 5 years parts and labor, so ask for the swim spa's own warranty document before you sign.
The ten checks from our swim spa buying guide, answered from what Sundance Spas publishes and from public filings. Tap a row for the detail.
Sundance's 2026 spec sheets give the Surf 17 eight swim-system jets (two wide swim jets, two buoyancy jets and four diversion jets) run by a 10-speed keypad at the swim end. The Stream 13 and 17 push two round swim jets from one dedicated 2-speed 4 HP pump, and the Splash 12's two swim jets share a 4 HP pump, through a diverter, with five of its seats. Sundance publishes no flow, current width or top speed; only the Splash 12's spec-sheet diagram shows an air control on the swim jets.

The 2026 spec sheets print a usable swim area for each model: 88 of 148.7 inches on the Splash 12, 112 of 148.25 on the Stream 13 and 168 of 208.25 on the Stream 17 and Surf 17. Cabinets stand 48.75 to 52.75 inches tall, and the sheets give seat depths but no water depth or lane width. The Surf's 'extra-wide' lane has no published figure.

The Splash 12's page lists a galvanized steel frame and multilayer insulation. For the Stream and Surf, the product pages, spec sheets and manuals name no frame; Sundance's blog post on energy-efficient swim spas says each model has a SunStrong steel frame and a 3-layer RigidBond shell, without naming the layers, the gauge or the base, and two Sundance dealers describe the SunStrong frame as galvanized. Filled weights run 9,790 lb on the Stream 13 to 18,960 lb on the 17-footers.

The 2026 manual gives 50 A GFCI breakers with #8 copper for the Stream and 60 A with #6 for the Surf, and recommends a new Siemens GFCI because others may trip. It assumes a reinforced concrete pad without giving a thickness, and Sundance's 2026 Pre-Delivery Guide covers hot tubs only. The manual also says to fill and leak-test the spa before any decking goes in, while the plumbing is easy to reach.

Only the Splash 12's page mentions insulation, as 'multilayer', without saying what the layers are; the Stream and Surf pages, spec sheets and manuals name no method. We found no Sundance swim spa in California's energy database, so ask the dealer for the model's standby watts. Every model has plumbing ready for a heat pump, and the Stream and Surf run a small 24-hour circulation pump with a 5.5 kW heater.

Seats and swim lane share the same water on every model, and the manual gives each one a single temperature setting. To swim cool and soak hot you change the set point and wait. A Sundance blog post describes a 19-foot two-zone 'Stream', but no current Sundance swim spa matches it.

Every model runs a Gecko in.ye-6 control pack and Gecko keypad, and the manual tells owners to fill and leak-test before any decking goes in. Sundance publishes no clearance or equipment-bay location for its swim spas. The Surf's swim selector replaces manual diverters with actuators; the manual gives a self-calibration routine and says an actuator that won't calibrate must be calibrated or replaced through the retailer.

Sundance's warranty page lists hot tub series only, and its swim spa spec sheets print just '10/5/3 Year Limited' without saying what each number covers (the Splash 12 sheet prints nothing). One Sundance dealer links the 880 hot tub warranty on its Stream 13 page and advertises 5 years parts and labor. Get the swim spa's own written warranty before you sign; the 2026 manual already rules out freeze damage and damage from poor water balance.

The 2026 spec sheets list a summer cover, a rollaway cover and a rollaway bracket as options without saying what comes standard, and name no lifter. The manual's care section describes a locking Sundance hard cover with tapered foam inserts, but not whether one is included or how a 12- to 17-foot cover is split. California's energy listing would name the tested cover, but we found no listing for Sundance swim spas.

Sundance says its spas sell at more than 750 retail locations in over 60 countries, and the swim spa manual sends owners to their retailer for service, including Surf swim-system faults. It names no factory for the swim spas: an Ontario dealer calls them Canadian-made, and Sundance's 2024 Canadian filing lists Mississauga-based Hydropool as its subsidiary, which isn't the same as saying who builds them.
