The best inflatable hot tubs, picked on published facts
Short answer
Of 26 inflatables on the makers' US sites, the Intex PureSpa Greywood Deluxe Bubble 6-person is the largest at 290 gallons, the MSpa Tekapo 4-person lists the fastest heat-up at 2.5–3.5°F an hour, and the Bestway SaluSpa Hot Springs AirJet is the only one rated to stay up in freezing weather, down to 14°F.
Picked on published facts only. How we picked
No manufacturer pays us. How we make money
Largest capacity, most jets and longest warranty
Intex PureSpa Greywood Deluxe Bubble 6-person
PureSpa · 28441EH
It holds the most water of any inflatable here, 290 gallons (tied with 2 others). It has the most jets, 170 (tied with one other). Its 2-year warranty covers the whole spa, the longest term any maker here gives (tied with 7 others). The trade-off: Intex lists only 1.1–2°F an hour of heat-up at this size.
Fastest published heat-up
MSpa Tekapo 4-person
Comfort · C-TE042
It lists the fastest heat-up, 2.5–3.5°F an hour, and of the models that tie on that claim it has the most heater power per gallon: 1,350 W can add up to 3.2°F an hour to 171 gallons.
Best for cold weather
Bestway SaluSpa Hot Springs AirJet
SaluSpa · 6004J
It is the only inflatable here its maker rates to stay set up in freezing weather, down to 14°F air. Bestway doesn't publish the heater's wattage.
Most jets in a 4-person tub
Intex PureSpa Calacatta Square Jet and Bubble Deluxe 4-person
PureSpa · 28463EP
No 4-person tub has more jets: 140 air + 4 water.
How we picked
Six tests, each on a figure the maker publishes for its US model. Nothing here is a rating, a review, a price or anyone's opinion, and there is no expert pick on this page. A model that wins more than one test is listed once.
- Largest capacity: the most water. Ties go to more jets, then the longer warranty.
- Most jets: air jets plus water jets. Ties go to more water, then the longer warranty.
- Longest warranty: the term on the tub itself. Where a maker's page and manual disagree, we use the shorter. Ties go to more water, then more jets.
- Fastest published heat-up: the maker's own °F-an-hour figure, by its low end and then its high end. Ties go to the most heater watts per gallon, the limit physics sets.
- Best for cold weather: the tub needs a published freeze-protection mode. Then the lowest outdoor temperature its maker allows, then the number of insulation features it lists, then heater watts.
- Most jets in a 4-person tub: the jets test, among 4-person tubs.
6 models tie on the fastest claim (Tekapo 4-person, Bergen 4-person, Carlton, Vito, Soho and Portland); the Tekapo 4-person has the most heater power per gallon of them. On cold, every MSpa has an anti-icing mode too, but MSpa's US manual still sets a 39°F limit, so the Bestway SaluSpa Hot Springs AirJet leads on 3 listed cold-weather features and a 14°F limit.
Do the heat-up claims add up?
Only in part. A heater can't add more heat than its rating: one watt-hour is 3.412 Btu, one Btu warms a pound of water by 1°F, and a gallon weighs 8.34 lb. That gives each tub a ceiling with no heat lost. For all 25 models that publish both figures, the top of the maker's range is above that ceiling, and for 3 even the bottom is. The maker may have measured with less water or warmer air; none says. We still rank on the published claim, and break ties on the ceiling.

What should you check before buying an inflatable?
- The lowest air temperature the manual allows. For most inflatables it is 39°F.
- The standby label on the box, if it was sold for California. No maker prints it online.
- The warranty card: what it covers, for how long, and whether freeze damage is excluded.
- The outlet: a 120-volt GFCI outlet with nothing else big on the circuit, and no extension cord.

Common questions
What is the best inflatable hot tub?
It depends on the job. On published specs, the Intex PureSpa Greywood Deluxe Bubble 6-person is the biggest and has the most jets and the longest warranty; the MSpa Tekapo 4-person lists the fastest heat-up; and the Bestway SaluSpa Hot Springs AirJet is the one to look at for winter.
What is the best inflatable hot tub for winter?
The Bestway SaluSpa Hot Springs AirJet. Its Freeze Shield keeps the water above freezing so it can stay set up down to 14°F air. Intex and MSpa both say not to set up or leave their spas out below 39°F.
What is the best inflatable hot tub for 6 people?
On size, the Intex PureSpa Greywood Deluxe Bubble 6-person: 290 gallons and 170 jets. 14 of the 26 inflatables seat 6; the MSpa 6-person models hold 245 gallons and weigh 55.1 to 84.9 lb empty, the only 6-person empty weights any maker publishes.
Is there a good 2-person inflatable hot tub?
None of the three makers' US sites lists a 2-person inflatable. The smallest is the MSpa Tekapo 4-person at 171 gallons.
Why don't you show prices?
We don't publish inflatable prices. Every pick here rests on figures the makers print, which you can check through the source dots.
