Bestway SaluSpa Hot Springs inflatable hot tub

Short answer

Bestway's US site lists one complete inflatable hot tub, the SaluSpa Hot Springs AirJet: 177 gallons, 120 air jets and a 104°F top setting. It takes 13–29 hours to heat from 68°F, and its Freeze Shield lets it stay up in winter down to 14°F.

How long does the SaluSpa Hot Springs take to heat up?

Most of a day. Bestway publishes hours rather than a rate: from water and air at 68°F it takes 13–29 hours to reach 104°F, and from 50°F it takes 23–40 hours. That works out to about 1.2–2.8°F an hour at 68°F. Bestway's general FAQ claims 2–3°F an hour on 120 volts. Bestway doesn't publish the heater's wattage; the pump is rated 12 amps at 110 to 120 volts.

Bestway says the figures are for reference only. The per-hour rate is our arithmetic from its hours.

Can you leave a SaluSpa outside in winter?

This one, yes, within limits. Its Freeze Shield runs the heater to hold the water between 42.8°F and 50°F once it gets cold, so the tub can stay set up through winter; below 42.8°F Bestway says the heater must stay on, and at 14°F you take it down. Bestway's FAQ is stricter for its spas without Freeze Shield: it says they can't run below 39°F, and elsewhere advises against using them below 50°F.

The walls and cover use what Bestway calls EnergySense insulation. Bestway says the insulated walls and cover are up to 40% more energy-efficient than similar inflatable hot tubs. It also says the Hot Springs meets APSP-14 and California's Title 20 rules, the standby test hard-shell tubs file, but it doesn't print the standby watts. See inflatable vs hard-shell hot tubs.

What was the Bestway spa pump recall?

In September 2024 Bestway and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled about 866,000 AirJet and HydroJet spa pumps because they can overheat and the plastic housing can catch fire. The CPSC reported one death in a house fire. The pumps were sold with SaluSpa, Coleman and Hydro-Force spas from May 2021 to May 2024; the recalled models are P05332, P05339, P05711, P05807, P07000, P07001, P05511, P07034 and P07572. Bestway and the model number are printed on the label on the side or back of the pump. Owners get a free replacement pump or a refund. Check the label on any SaluSpa or Coleman pump bought in those years. More recalls by brand: hot tub recalls.

What does Bestway's warranty cover?

1 year on the heater pump and 180 days on the liner and every other part. The warranty covers only tubs bought from Bestway or a Bestway authorized seller in the US and Canada. Bestway also warns that sun softens the PVC and raises the air pressure, which can deform the top ring, and that damage from a set-up surface that breaks its rules isn't a defect.

What about Coleman SaluSpa and Lay-Z-Spa?

Coleman SaluSpa spas sold through US retailers come from Bestway too: the recall above names them. Bestway's US site has no product page for them, or for the Lay-Z-Spa line, so we have no maker's spec sheet to cite and leave them out. For every inflatable we can cite, see inflatable hot tubs.

How hot does a SaluSpa get?

104°F. The control ships set to 95°F and adjusts from 68°F to 104°F.
