Vita Spa
A complete home massage, with seats built around named massage styles and Champagne Air bubbles, on a lifetime steel frame with insulation you can service at home, built in Arizona and priced under the big premium names.
The long read: how the tubs are built, the complaint record, the warranty part by part, and the company’s history.
How it started
Vita Spa began as a Florida hot tub company. MAAX Spas bought it in 2009 and moved production to Arizona.
What Vita Spa is known for, and the catch
How it’s built
Eight things that decide whether it lasts. Tap any for the detail.
Self-supporting shellFiberglass-backed shell, but a wood or steel frame carries itPartly
Every model sits in a perimeter frame: wood on the 100 and 300 Series, steel on the 500 and 700. Vita warrants the vessel and the frame as separate parts. No foam holds the shell up either, but nothing published shows it standing on its own.

Clamped plumbingVita Spa doesn't publish this. Ask the dealerNot published
Vita never says how pipe is joined to its fittings, and no teardown photos are public. The manuals only mention hand-tight unions at the pumps and heater. These tubs are not foam-filled, so a dealer can pull a side panel and show you the joints.

Manifold-fed jetsVita Spa doesn't publish this. Ask the dealerNot published
Larger models split their jets across two or three pumps with diverter valves, so seats run on separate zones. Nothing says whether each jet gets its own feed off a manifold or runs in series. The open plumbing bay makes this checkable in person.

Standard partsBalboa and Gecko inside, rebadged, with proprietary jets and panelsPartly
Electronics and pumps come from Balboa and Gecko, so boards, heaters and topsides are parts an independent tech can buy. The jets, side panels and control branding are Vita's own, there is no public parts catalog, and the warranty voids if a non-authorized tech works on it.

Compression-fitted jetsOlder jet bodies bolt in with a nut; newer ones press into a grommetPartly
Parts sellers list Vita jet bodies with a nut, gasket and compression ring. Newer bodies shared with American Whirlpool press into a rubber grommet with no nut. Vita doesn't say which current tubs use, and nothing shows glued bodies.

Adjustable jetsDirectional and rotating jets each adjust on their ownYes
Turn the outer ring on a directional or rotating jet to set its flow, and aim the nozzle where you want it. The Euro jet stays open because ozone feeds through it. Air controls on the lip work in groups, not per jet.

Service networkSold and serviced only through dealers; coverage isn't listed publiclyPartly
Vita sells through pool and spa retailers, and your dealer handles delivery, install and warranty work. The locator is a contact form rather than a map, so you can't check who covers your area before handing over your details. Labor and travel can be billed on covered repairs.

What Vita Spa says, part by part7
Vita doesn't publish how jets connect to plumbing; its warranty lists jet inserts as owner-serviceable parts.
Galvanized steel sub-structure on 500 and 700 Series; Vita claims it's 40% lighter and 250% stronger than wood frames.
Northern Exposure on the 500 and 700 Series: copper reflector, removable BlueMAAX recycled-fiber panels and 3M Thinsulate wrap, instead of full foam.
Not published by the maker: plumbing.
Barbed, clamped or glued? What it means3
Hose slides over a ridged fitting and a clamp holds it. Easy to service, but clamps are one more thing that can loosen.
Pipe is solvent-welded into the fitting and becomes one piece. A strong seal, but a leak repair means cutting and re-gluing.
Which method this model uses, whether the joints are reachable for repair, and what the plumbing warranty covers.
What owners and watchdogs say
A BBB letter grade rates how a company handles complaints, not how happy owners are. Read it next to the complaint count and the reviews.
How complaints ended, and the reviews by star1
- 0 Resolvedthe customer accepted the company's answer
- 2 Answeredthe company replied; the customer didn't confirm it was fixed
- 0 Unresolvedthe company replied; the customer said it wasn't fixed
- 0 Unansweredthe company never replied
The company replied to 2 of 2. A complaint count means more next to how big the company is.
What owners complain about4
Dealers and techs say Vita's fiber-batt perimeter insulation costs more to run than full foam in cold climates; a sister-brand owner disagrees.
Several owners report burnt circuit boards, power-board error codes or blown fuses, sometimes with slow repairs.
What owners praise3
