Hot Spring spa error codes and logo lights
Short answer
On 2026 Highlife and Limelight tubs the screen shows E codes (E2 no flow, E5 sensor fault, E6 no heater power) and the logo lights flash: a flashing blue light means the heater high limit tripped. Hot Spot tubs use dashes and equal signs instead, and FreeFlow tubs use three-letter codes such as FLO and OH.

What you can check yourself
- Turn the power off at the breaker for 30 seconds, then back on. Once.
- Clean the filter, or replace it if it is worn.
- Check the water level and top it up to the line in your manual.
- Purge an air lock the way your owner's manual describes.
Where the owner's part ends
Anything else: turn off power at the breaker and call a technician.
If the tub does not work after one high-limit or GFCI reset, Hot Spring refers it to an authorized service technician. Turn off power at the breaker. See what a high limit is.

What do the Hot Spring logo lights mean?
They repeat what the control panel knows, so you can read the tub with the cover on. On the 2026 Highlife, the blue light means power and the teal light means the water is within 2°F of the set temperature. A flashing blue light means the heater high limit tripped; a blue light that is off means a problem with the control box or the power supply. The status ring adds yellow when something needs attention and red when it needs it now. If all three lights flash red, the tub is in protection mode with the heater and jets off.
What should I do when the blue light flashes?
What do the dashes on a Hot Spring Hot Spot mean?
The Hot Spot Collection shows patterns instead of codes. A star and four equal signs (*====) with flashing POWER and READY icons means the pressure switch is open, usually from a clogged filter. Five equal signs mean the switch is stuck closed, and five dashes with a flashing POWER icon mean the high limit tripped.

What do the codes on a Hot Spring FreeFlow mean?
FreeFlow tubs show the three-letter codes used by Gecko packs: FLO, HL, OH, PRR, AOH and UPL. The limits are printed in the FreeFlow manual itself: OH at 108°F in the spa water and HL at 122°F at the heater. Gecko's own guide puts HL at 119°F on its Y series packs, so use your own manual's number. See Gecko error codes.

Common questions
Why is the light on my Hot Spring hot tub flashing?
On a 2026 Highlife, a flashing blue logo light means the heater high limit has tripped: the water got too hot, or something like a clogged filter cut circulation. A flashing yellow ring means a function needs attention; flashing red means an issue that needs attention now.
What is error code E2 on a Hot Spring?
No flow, check filter: the pressure switch or flow check failed and the heater is off. Clean the filter. The integrated pressure switch resets by itself once water flows through the heater again.
What is error code 5 on a Hot Spring?
On the 2026 Highlife and Limelight screens, E5 is a control sensor fault: the heater is off and the status ring flashes red. Hot Spring says to call for service.
What is error code 4 on a Hot Spring?
E4 is a peripheral fault. Power to the accessories has been cut, so the salt system, music and lights stop. It needs a service call.
How do I reset a Hot Spring hot tub?
Turn the power off for at least 30 seconds, then back on. That resets the heater high limit if it tripped. Do it once; if the tub trips again, check the filter and call for service.
