What owners say.

From owner reviews and forums across Nordic Hot Tubs tubs, not just this model.

Owners like

  • Value for money
  • Long trouble-free service life, per one owner

Owners complain about

  • Topside panel won't program filter cycles
  • Temperature control and heater problems
  • Sanitizer unit failures
All themes, and complaint records

Owners like

  • Value for money. Buyers feel Nordic delivers acceptable build and therapy for materially less than premium dealer brands. It is the most consistent positive across every kind of source.
  • Long trouble-free service life, per one owner. One owner reported years of reliable operation at a competitive running cost.

Owners complain about

  • Topside panel won't program filter cycles. Owners report being unable to program the filter cycle from the topside panel while heating and temperature otherwise work; one report suggests replacing the 4-button topside panel.
  • Temperature control and heater problems. Owners report the set temperature not holding and the heater running at the wrong point in the cycle. In one Nordic Sport case on a spa forum, posters pointed at the control board, flow switch, temperature sensor or a pump not entering low-speed circulation.
  • Sanitizer unit failures (Aquanova AOP). One owner reported the Aquanova AOP sanitizing unit failing twice in quick succession within the first year.
  • Documentation quality. One owner criticized the owner's manual as incomplete, with unclear guidance on jet controls.

How it’s built. The 8 build checks, in plain words.

The same eight checks we run on every brand, answered from Nordic Hot Tubs’ own documents. Tap one for what it means and the evidence.

Self-supporting shellDoes the shell hold itself up?Not published
Shell layers: an acrylic skin backed by fiberglass, self-supporting compared with propped on posts

Nordic Hot Tubs doesn't publish this. Ask the dealer.

Nordic sprays rigid closed-cell foam directly onto the outside of the shell, a conventional full-foam build. No manual, sell sheet or warranty document names a frame or a shell substrate. Nobody has posted a cutaway, so what carries the water weight is guesswork.

Applies to: All models

Clamped plumbingAre the hoses glued and clamped? Not published
How a hose joint goes together: glue on the ridged barb, the hose pushed on, then a stainless clamp tightened; beside it, a clamped joint (good) and a glue-only joint years later, weeping

Nordic Hot Tubs doesn't publish this. Ask the dealer.

The no-leak warranty names internal glue joints, so solvent-welded connections are in there. Parts sellers list 1-inch and 1.5-inch flexible hose, which can be glued or barbed and clamped. Nothing published says which one Nordic uses. Ask a dealer to open a cabinet.

Applies to: All models

Manifold-fed jetsDoes each jet get its own line?Partly
Manifold plumbing feeds each jet its own hose; daisy-chained jets share one line

Manifolds feed jet groups; how each seat is fed isn't published.

A parts specialist tells techs to check the manifold feeding a group when flow drops there, and diverter valves route water between separate branches. What nobody shows is the level below: whether jets in one seat each get a feed or share a chained run.

Applies to: All models

Standard partsCan any repair tech buy the parts?Partly
A pump labelled with the supplier's own name and number is sold in many places; one with only a house number is sold in one place

Balboa and Gecko controls, Waterway jets, under Nordic part numbers.

Nordic hosts the Balboa control manuals on its own site, and older tubs ran Gecko packs. Pumps are Waterway and Aqua-Flo, and the jets are Waterway families sold under Nordic part numbers, so a generic replacement takes a cross-reference. Independent retailers sell all of it with no dealer account.

Applies to: All series, current and older tubs

Compression-fitted jetsAre the jet bodies held by a nut, not glue?Partly
Three ways a jet body is held in the shell: threaded with a gasket and back nut that unscrews (good), pushed into a rubber grommet (OK), or glued in and cut out to replace (avoid)

Most jet bodies bolt in with a nut and gasket; Nordic doesn't say.

An independent parts seller lists Nordic's Poly Storm body with a gasket and nut, and its Power Storm replacement the same way. The Mini Storm listing doesn't say, and Nordic publishes nothing on it. Nothing shows glued bodies.

Applies to: All series

Adjustable jetsCan you turn each jet up or down?Yes
Three jet controls: turning a jet's face changes that one jet, a diverter knob moves water from one seat to another, an air control adds bubbles

Main therapy jets turn individually from full flow to off.

The manual gives the mechanism. Rotate the face counter-clockwise for full flow, clockwise to shut it, with a trickle left running for safety. Air controls and diverter valves handle whole groups on top of that. Ozone jets, some cluster jets and suction covers stay fixed.

Applies to: All models, for the main Nordic Star hydrotherapy jets; ozone jets, some cluster jets and suction fittings are fixed

Service networkCan someone near you fix it?Yes
A dealer's technician close by drives a parts-stocked van to the house quickly; a home far from any dealer waits longer, and in winter a long wait can freeze the plumbing

Dealer-only service, and parts sell online without an account.

Nordic sells only through dealers, and the dealer who sold the tub handles warranty claims. The factory covers parts freight for seven years, but the dealer can bill a trip charge at any point. No dealer map is published, so check for one near you.

Applies to: All models, North America; Europe is served by separate distributors and wasn't assessed

American made?Built in Grand Rapids, Michigan.Yes
Yes: built in a US plant the maker names. Partly: a US plant and one abroad, with no word on which built yours. No: built abroad, with molded parts shipped from there

Built in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Grand Rapids, Michigan: Company says it operates out of Grand Rapids; headquarters at 4655 Patterson Ave SE.

Applies to: All models

Full-foam insulationIs it foamed all the way through?Yes
Full-foam insulation fills the cabinet; perimeter insulation lines the walls and leaves the middle open

Nordic Hot Tubs lists it as: Full foam; Nordic Wrap™ optional upgrade.
